Permaculture updates: May 12, 2018

Worms!  Hundreds of them!  Maybe a thousand?! This was our project for the week.  The Martin family, who we will miss immensely, donated all the contents of their worm bin to fill our worm bin. We are so excited to have worms now to eat our food and paper scraps and provide one of the most nutritious amendments to our soil. Worm juice and worm castings are some of the best fertilizer you can give your soil, and it’s full of beneficial bacteria, so it also provides a probiotic for your plants. Good stuff.

We are so excited to have them as part of our permaculture program. The worm is also the symbol of our Permaculture principle to Produce no waste. Check it out.
